There is another instance of “telepathy” as well. When Young Charlie finds out that Uncle Charlie has written to say he is going to visit when she has gone to write to him to ask him to visit, she believes they have used telepathy. Not only did Hitchcock demonstrate that their lives mirror each other’ through camera shots that are literal mirror images, such as the opening scenes of their windows and bedrooms, but through more far-fetched means as well. One interesting aspect of Shadow of a Doubt was the connection between Uncle Charlie and Young Charlie. ![]()
